Tour plan
Day 1: Airport – Kruje – Lezhe - Shkoder +
After arriving at the airport and being introduced to the guide, you will be transferred in a comfortable vehicle to visit one of the cities with Albanian characteristics as well as the center of the Albanian resistance against the Ottoman Empire. Kruja Castle has a wonderful view of the Adriatic coast. Within its walls is the most visited museum in Albania in honor of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg. Free lunch. After lunch free time in the characteristic bazaar of Kruje. In the afternoon we will leave for Lezha, where we will visit another magnificent castle, which stands on top of a hill with a fantastic view. Ana Comnena, the Byzantine chroniclers, would describe it as a castle standing in the air. After visiting the castle, we head towards the city of Shkodra. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 2: Shkoder - Tirane +
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the center of Shkodra, talk about the history of this unique city and leave to visit the beautiful fortress of Rozafat, one of the largest fortresses in the Balkans. Where legends and historical events are intertwined. you will admire wonderful views of the largest lake in the Balkans and the city as well. Lunch with a view in front of the castle and in the afternoon we leave for Tirana. You will enjoy Tirana in the evening Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Petrele – Elbasan - Bashtove Castle - Tirane +
After breakfast at the hotel, we head towards the Petrele Castle, another very beautiful castle, part of the historical center against the Ottomans. The commander of this fortress was Mamica, the sister of our national hero Gjerg Kastriot Skenderbeu. After the visit, we leave for Elbasan. Elbasan Castle is 2000 years old, it is a very interesting field castle. During the Ottoman occupation, this castle was rebuilt only for 25 days by Sultan Mehmet II. Within the walls of the castle, traces of the Egnatia street, which was built by the Romans to connect the two important centers of Christianity, Rome and Constantinople, are still visible. Elbasan has a large number of cultural, historical and archaeological monuments and attractions. We continue to Bashtove Castle, another quite interesting field castle as well. In the evening we return to Tirana again for dinner and the night at the hotel.
Day 4: Tirane - Kepi i Rodonit - Durres +
After breakfast at the hotel, we will continue to the ancient city of Durres. We visit the city center, the Venetian tower, the ruins of the Roman amphitheater, the second largest in the Balkans, which had about 20,000 seats for spectators, the fortified walls of the Byzantine period, etc. Then we continue to visit another castle at the Cape of Rodon, a medieval castle built by Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu. After lunch we will return to Durres to enjoy the coast at night. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 5: Durres - Berat +
After breakfast, we continue to the next city, the city of Berat. Berat is one of the most interesting cities in Albania and is listed in the UNESCO world heritage. We will visit the Castle, which is the only castle where life continues today without ever being broken since the beginning of the Illyrian era when the castle was built. Lunch inside the castle in a typical restaurant. Afternoon free to enjoy the beauty of two other neighborhoods, Mangalem and Gorice, the King's mosque, etc. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 6: Berat- Gjirokaster +
After breakfast we leave for Girokaster, another museum city, part of the unesco heritage. We visit the magnificent fortress, one of the largest fortresses in the Balkans, which is also a symbol of the city. Free lunch in the afternoon, visit the old bazaar, the cobbled streets, and enjoy the evening in the old part of the city, where the bazaar buzzes with music and beautiful music. A series of shops with handmade souvenirs will be another opportunity to get a souvenir from this city. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 7: Gjirokaster - Libohove - Sarande +
After breakfast we leave for Libohova. In the medieval period, Libohova was the main economic and cultural center. A very prosperous city. We will visit the castle of Shanina. It came as a gift from her brother as a wedding dowry from Ali Pashe Tepelena, a very important ruler who lived in the XVIII-XIX centuries. Free lunch. After lunch we leave for the beautiful coastal city of Saranda. You will enjoy the evening walk in Sarande, a city that has a fantastic atmosphere during the summer with music and taverns with local food. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 8: Sarande – Lekures - Porto Palermo - Vlore +
After breakfast, we leave to admire the beautiful view of the city of Saranda from the Lekures castle, the castle built at the beginning of the 16th century by Suleiman the Magnificent. We continue towards the Albanian riviera, we visit the fortress of Porto Palermo, built on the ruins of a previous Venetian fort. We will stop often for panoramic photos along the road where we pass between characteristic villages and the beautiful park of Llogara, where we will also have lunch in a local restaurant with traditional food. After lunch, we continue our journey towards the next coastal city of Vlora. Vlora is a city with centuries-old history and culture. One of the most beautiful Albanian cities. Dinner and night at the hotel. Enjoy Vlora in the evening.
Day 9: Vlore - Kanine - Tirane +
After breakfast, a walk in the center of Vlora to get to know the city and its history and then we go up to the castle of Kanina, which has a fantastic view of the city, the island of Sazan, the lagoon of Narta, the peninsula of Karaburuni, etc. We eat lunch in Divjake and head towards Tirana. Dinner in a traditional restaurant.
Day 10: End of the Tour. +
